Mille grazie to Candice. Y’all should now go check out her blog . It will actually make you pee in your pants a little bit…it’s that funny. She’s also a supremely talented travel writer (and deep-sea technology writer at that. What what.)

OK-and now I’m supposed to tell 7 random facts about myself. Here goes:

1. I love rap and like to pretend I know the words to all Jay-Z songs.

2. I’m really tall. As in 5′11″ (or about 1.8 meters for you lucky metric people.)

3. I remember dates and events in eery detail.

4. I’m allergic to the red dye #4.

5. I have Eurotrash tendencies. Example 1: I love discotheques. Example 2: I heart Mika’s song “Take It Easy” . Example 3: I lived, illegally, in Amsterdam for 6 months. (Well, maybe that one’s just straight up felonious.)

6. I don’t have a desk. I work on one of those padded lap desks that you can buy at Barnes and Noble.

7. Whenever I’m say I’m from North Carolina, most people’s first reaction is to reference this video or this video . Just for the record, that young lady was from SOUTH Carolina, not North Carolina. We’re much more intelligent up here, 60 miles (95 kilometers) north.
